Analysis of Mystic Timbers, New for 2017 Coaster at Kings Island
Maximum Height: 109 feet Drop Height: 97 feet Top Speed: 53 mph Length: 3,265 feet
Kings Island, one of the world's premier amusement parks, has finally announced their new wooden roller coaster, Mystic Timbers. After months of teasing, which included wooden fences displaying signs warning guests of falling trees and mini trucks with beds filled with wood logs, the park spilled the beans. After speculation, and even a leak of the layout, the park confirmed the coaster would give Kings Island the record of the most feet of wooden roller coaster track in the world. surpassing Six Flags Great America's record. The park will have the most wooden coasters in any park in the world. The new coaster will be built by one of the leading wooden roller coaster manufacturers, Great Coasters International. It will be one foot shorter in height than the park's record-holding "The Beast." It will have a 109-foot lift hill that drops 97 feet and gives trains the momentum to reach 53 miles per hour. The coaster will be 3,265 feet long, which is above average compared to other roller coasters from GCI. The coaster was revealed to the public earlier tonight, and it has already been predicted to be one of, if not the best coaster at Kings Island. While the coaster and its name could have been a little better, it is very impressive in look, layout, and statistics. The coaster will have many small and large airtime hills, along with a mid-course tunnel and banked s-curve. I definitely was impressed with Mystic Timbers. Kings Island also has created a teaser campaign to continue during the construction of Mystic Timbers, which is associated with "#whatsintheshed." In the animated on-ride POV of the coaster, there is a mysterious building at the end of the brake run, and we are supposed to try to figure out what is in that shed. It seems to be an inversion, but many other theories have arisen.
