Wildfire at Kolmarden Closed Indefinitely due to Revoked Permits
Just after being open for less than four months, Wildfire at Kolmarden Wildlife Park in Sweden has closed indefinitely due to permits revoked by the Land and Environment Court of Norrkoping, Sweden. An article from svt.se says "The Court believes that the ride raises so many questions that it should have been preceded by a detailed plan, which it has not done.”

Kolmarden has stood firm and claimed that they followed the guidelines and restrictions for constructing Wildfire. The CEO of Kolmarden, Christer Fogelmarck, said this in regard to the decision of the Land and Environmental Court to revoke the permits: "It has been a tumultuous day. I have reacted to become sad, shocked, and surprised." The svt.se article continued to say, "The Court's decision means technically to Kolmarden may need to tear down roller-coaster. It can however be avoided if Norrkoping municipality, which first gave permission for the construction, prepare a detailed plan afterwards." Kolmarden has not released official word about this incident. The park also has not acknowledged the revoked permits, other than closing Wildfire. In the worst-case scenario, Kolmarden may have to tear Wildfire down as quoted above, or the coaster would be closed for a period of time as the detailed plan to avoid demolition of the $12.2 million USD coaster is provided.
