Energylandia Announces the Tallest and Fastest Hyper Coaster in the World, New for 2018
Back in October, Energylandia, an amusement park located in Malopolskie, Poland, announced it would be adding a new roller coaster for the 2018 season. The park gave the public the option to vote for one of two coaster proposals, one from Dutch manufacturer Vekoma, and one from Swiss manufacturer Intamin. Both proposals were similar in many ways, but Energylandia announced today that the public chose the Intamin proposal.

The new roller coaster, set to open in 2018, will be the tallest and fastest hyper coaster in the world, surpassing the records currently held by Shambhala: Expedición al Himalaya at PortAventura in Spain, which is 249 feet tall and reaches speeds of over 83 mph. Energylandia's coaster will be 262.5 feet tall and will reach speeds of 87 mph. The new coaster's layout will include an eighty-five degree main drop, a panoramic wave turn, multiple airtime moments, and a splash effect near the end of the ride. The new coaster will feature four-seater trains, also used on Taron at Phantasialand that opened earlier this year.
