Rocky Mountain Construction Iron Horse Track Spotted at Kings Dominion
Kings Dominion released a statement in March of 2016 that their wooden coaster, Hurler, would not operate for the season because it was undergoing extensive maintenance, and it would likely reopen in 2017. But, the park released a video teasing the future of Hurler late last year, and it provided the year 2018 as when the Hurler would be "reborn."

The common consensus was that Hurler would be receiving the RMC (Rocky Mountain Construction) treatment, in which the wooden track would be removed, a new layout would be created, and new steel RMC Iron Horse track would be placed on the existing structure (and usually new structure also). Mean Streak at Kings Dominion's sister park Cedar Point is currently receiving the RMC treatment, but Cedar Point did not tease this coaster as extravagantly as Kings Dominion teased Hurler.
The best part about this construction on Mean Streak is that it confirms that the parent company of Cedar Point and Kings Dominion, Cedar Fair, is working with RMC. This made the likelihood of Hurler receiving the RMC treatment even greater than ever expected. And, guess what? RMC track has been spotted at Kings Dominion, confirming that Hurler will in fact be revitalized as an RMC coaster for the 2018 season. This track, oddly enough, is the same color as the track being used for RMC Mean Streak.

2018 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years for coasters...ever. Coasters such as RMC Mean Streak at Cedar Point, RMC Hurler at Kings Dominion, the MACK Rides spinning coaster or Bolliger & Mabillard coaster coming to Silver Dollar City, the launched MACK Rides coaster coming to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and SW8 (speculated to be a launched wooden coaster) coming to Alton Towers are among the most notable coming in 2018. Others include a B&M Dive Coaster coming to Liseberg and a launched Premier Rides shuttle coaster coming to Adventure Island in Qatar.
